For quite some time I’ve been waking up with a fast heart rate to the point where it makes me feel sick. It takes me a good 30 minutes for it to settle again. Doctor just says anxiety but it’s not. Has anyone else experienced this, if so what was the outcome?
I had A-Fib off and on for a couple years. Mine was usually brought on by dehydration, caffeine, and sometimes stress.
The last time I was in A-Fib for over 30 days and they did one cardiovert prior to that. During that time my heart rate was from 110-150 but never lower. I felt so tired the entire time. I finally had an ablation where the froze the spots that was causing it. So far I have avoided caffeine and my heart rate is in the 60’s. I hope this helps. The Drs. Fear was I would have blood clots. I have one now but it is superficial and I should absorb it.
Yep! Afib, not fun, and then a couple of heart attacks, def not fun! But suggest you contact docs and get in quick. Also have them check thyroid. It can make your heart do some weird things, and lupus doesn't always make your thyroid low, mine was overactive and I felt like my heart was fluttering. A million butterflies in my chest! Just get to docs soon.
Maybe A-fib (atrial fibrulation)? @A MyLupusTeam Member could tell you how it feels for him.... Hope you feel better soon... Hugs....
I have a heart mummer and Mitral Valve Prolapse, I get heart palpitations which are annoying, make sure you see a Cardiologist. I doubt it is anxiety doctors love to us that word! Get it check out please!
Blessings
I can only speak from my experience but I have been having this problem since 6/29/18 my heart just went crazy beating way to fast and I started feeling dizzy/lightheaded. I was home by myself at the time and knew if I panicked it would only be worse so I called 911 long story short it is what they call SVT’s Supra Ventricular Tachardia (I know it isn’t spelt right) my heart rate was 218 beats per minute when the paramedics ran a strip on me and they were like yep you are definitely going to the hospital. I have had bunch of tests done and a sleep study was one of them and all they have found is that I have sleep apnea and am going to start wearing a C-Pap at night starting tomorrow actually. I take a medicine that is for my blood pressure and to keep my heart rate normal but I still feel it skipping all over the place especially at night when I lay down and strangely enough more when I lay on my left side. Wow I never thought it could be because of the Lupus but my cardiologist and I are going to have a talk about that my next appointment 🤨
