Anyone on Benlysta or Acthar? What's your opinions about side affects and how it works for you?
Learn more about the drug treatment mentioned above.Ive been on Benlysta for several months now. It does take a while for it to work so you have to be patient with all of your symptoms. My face rash has gone down and its very minimal now. Im only have joint pain in my knees, compared to months ago where it was everywhere. But i think weather affects that too so i cant say its only been the meds. I have an appoitment tomorrow with rheumatology, so i hope to get off of the prednisone soon. Since ive started benlysta ive been tapering off slowly. Ive also stopped losing my hair, and its starting to grow back too. Overall its worked great for me.
I have to say I LOVE THE BENLYSTA!!!! My hair is growing back slowly, my pain level has subsided tremendously, the cold weather or too much air conditioning is the only time my joints bother me..I am off of the prednisone..I only get flare ups once a year now..In the colder months...
I forgot to mention that i do the injections and not the infusions. This was a personal choice as i think the infusions will take up too much time for me. Im in nursing school so i dont have much time and i prefered to inject myself instead. It burns a bit but i usually do the injections in my thighs since its easier for me. Once it goes through the skin, it just injects on its own. It takes a couple of minutes to do and its only once a week.
I’m starting in 2 weeks so I found your insight helpful.
I started Benlysta infusions in September 2019. My rash is better but not gone and I'm not losing as much hair and I do seem to be growing some. I'm going to stay on Benlyst for now snd give it a chance.
