Constant Diarrhea
So i have always struggled with constipation my whole life. For the last 3 months now, ive been dealing with diarrhea. Ive been to the gastro doctor, she was so unsure of what is causing this. Sending me to someone higher up. I take 8 mg of folic acid daily. I also take 17.5 mg (2.5mg X 7 tabs weekly) of methotrexate weekly. My other meds are 2.5 mg prednisone daily, 40mg omprozole, 250mg plaqunill, and 500mg X 2 daily of naproxen. I at first thought it was my water at my house because we have… read more
Mine is caused by IBS.
My Rheumo will NOT allow me to take naproxen, Motrin, etc. with the plaquenil it’s not good for the kidneys long term use. I do have drug induced IBS and gastroparesis which all started when I was diagnosed 12 years. Some days no issues at all but others anything I put in comes right back up or out. Hope you get some answers.🙏🏻
Talk to your doctor it me be a medicine you are taking for lupus.
It may be the methotrexate. I had to go off it bc I got so sick with diarrhea lost over 50 lbs. Try taking Pepto bismol tablets it helped. And the only thing that helped.
It might be the methotrexate. I had issues with diarrhea when I took it. I did weekly injections. I don’t remember the dose but it was low. Once my doctor took me off of it the diarrhea stopped. Also diet can be a part of it as well.
