Trump just announced the FDA approved Plaquenil for use against the Corona Virus. Knowing this was coming my pharmacist approved to fill my 3 month supply yesterday. There is a very real concern there could be a shortage.
We need a treatment for those with the Corona virus (Covid-19) but we also need to care for ourselves, we are vulnerable and can’t afford to miss our meds because of a lack of availability
Because we are vulnerable and because this will get worse in coming weeks, we should fill… read more

If they do treat Corona with Plaquenil it would likely be a short course, but every single country on Earth is expecting massive numbers of sick people and they have closed down the supply lines in the event they need tons of the medicine. All over social media people are discussing the fact they can’t fill the prescription already
Plaquenil is not the kind of medicine you feel right away. If doesn’t have the kind of effect on the body that would improve pain like a pain killer or anti inflammatory would. It takes several months to be effective and up to a year to be at its most effective
Got a 30 day supply, tried to get more, but my pharmacist said they can’t refill until a week before I’m out. Said she didn't think it would be a problem, but couldn’t say for certain.
Good Afternoon everyone! I know right now is an extremely scary time for all of us who fall into the low/basically no immune system category, and every day, there always seems to be something else added to the list of unknown possibilities. I personally am not one to ever pay much attention to what Mr. Trump has to say, however, this is one scenario in which I would most definitely, highly suggest speaking to your physician about getting your Plaquenil filled. Whether or not the statement of it having the ability to effect the virus or not, it’s essential for you to have the proper amount of medication you need personally! I myself have just contacted my doctor’s yesterday to begin the process of getting my prescriptions filled in the event of closings, or any other crazy unknown occurrences. So please, everyone, please be prepared; take an inventory of your medications, stay indoors as much as possible, and remain positive and healthy, both physically and mentally ❤️
Tons of happiness and love, Rae 💕
That was my first fear, what happens to those of us that rely on that medication for everyday health maintenance
@A MyLupusTeam Member can you please stop using the Lupus Message board for your 1 woman campaign to scare people into stopping their medication?
This has been a consistent theme with your posts for years now. If you didn’t like Plaquenil and stopped taking it that’s YOUR experience and YOUR choice.
People come here frightened about their health, looking to learn and looking for comfort. They don’t need to be met with a constant barrage of posts saying “Plaquenil is poison!!! Don’t take it!!” It is the safest medication for the treatment of Lupus at the moment. You’re doing no one any favors by trying to convince them to ignore their doctors recommendations. In fact, your irresponsible advice could be harming people
