Have Any Of You Dear Ladies Had A Hysterectomy? How Was Your Recovery?
Yes I have. I had three prior C-sections so they did an abdominal hysterectomy. I would love to tell you it was fairly easy but it was worse than C-sections!
Thank you, everyone, for the helpful answers. I am not as worried as before. Blessings to you all and hugs!
Lol! my goodness! I haven't had as many pregnancies but I have had all the same female problems as you have. I now have 2 uterine fibroids that make me constantly feel painfully pregnant. The hysterectomy should be laparoscopic and leave the ovaries. Thanks for the good news!
Complete or will ovaries be left in? I had mine 10 years ago after 11 pregnancies in 10 years (with 5 miscarriages), a tubal ligation in 2004 after last live birth and then 6 years of mystery problems. Not ONE doctor (mostly female, to my surprise) was willing to give me a hysterectomy because I was 43 until I doubled over in pain and called the ob who delivered my kids. He saw me right away and thought it was crazy that all the other doctors gave me the run around. He gave me the ultra sound that day-a huge cyst. They kept recurring but would resolve by the time each new gyn would βget me inβ for a scan! This one had grown monstrous-was also a year before SLE diagnosis, so I was getting sicker. Should have stayed with my ob/gyn, but I figured he was busy with pregnant ladies! I had surgery within 2 days. There were forms and labs. My ovaries remain. No complications. I recovered from that easier than my last root canal. My kids were all in elementary school and I was up and around within days.
Yes I had my hysterectomy in 2009. Everything went great for me.
