It's been a long time since I last posted, but 2 years later I find myself back at the lupus forum. When I attended my rheumy 2 years ago, I was diagnosed with the auto immune disease psoriatic arthritis. I tried 4 different drugs, and tho 2 of them were effective in controlling my symptoms, the side effects were unbearable and so I came off everything in November 19. Since January I have had flares continuously every fortnight or so, each lasting a week or so. Symptoms include entire body aches… read more

Not everyone with lupus will have anti ds dna. Sometimes you need to have your test at the correct time for it to show up.
Look up lupus Immunofluorescence testing and lupus band test. Ive found these sort of documents helpful when bloods come back saying your healthy when clearly your not

Do you have any rashes? Or sun rashes? If you do get a biopsy on them, your symptoms sound alot like mine.
My results were similar on bloods too mostly negative. Biopsy of effected areas can help towards a diagnosis.
Unfortunatley bloods are just one peice of the lupus puzzle.

@A MyLupusTeam Member Low C3 and C4 are both red flags for lupus along with a positive ANA *and* classic lupus symptoms. Sure sounds like lupus to me. Testing can be tricky and finding the 'perfect storm' of lab results can take years or may never occur but that doesn't mean you don't have lupus or some other auto immune disease. Symptoms play a big role in diagnosing and you've got them in spades!
