I respect everyone's experience, but you should not stop taking any medication without talking to your nephrologist. It can be very dangerous, specially as your kidney is in such a delicate situation. I hope you and your doctor find the best treatment for you and you recover soon. Hugs
I noticed you mentioned being on a plant-based diet. I have Lupus nephritis too and my nephrologist is keeping me on a low sodium diet โ i try to keep it under 1500 mg a day. The DASH diet was also suggested, but the low sodium one seems to work best for my situation. I hope this helps!
No Prednisone is not for kidneys. That is for the lupus.
Don't forget it's the lupus that's attacking the kidneys. So if your lupus is not in remission you have to stop it from attacking your kidneys. It is frustrating when people tell other people what to do. We know that this diagnosis is different for each of us. What works for you has nothing to do with the next person. We can only talk from our own experience. Every drug we take has a side effect. But at the end of the day it's those drugs that keep us here. Of course we don't want to take medicine and we want to be healthy. But that's not where we are. So if somebody makes a suggestion from their experience with a medication don't judge it, just respect it. And pray for that person that has to make a decision for their health and well-being.
That sounds like a lot of meds to try to help ur little tiny kidneys work better.....all i can say is Prednisone can do no good to ur kidneys...its a steroid, no.....i have treated joint inflammation, neuropathy and fibromyalgia with diet, turmeric and water therapy. As for the other meds i haven't taken. I would ask the dr what meds r actually helping lupus not attack everything? What meds am i taking that are bad for my kidneys? I really suggest the things i listed above for ur pain. Ur kidneys are like little babies. Imagine would u give ur babies steroids?... probably not cuz it can hurt their hearts. Remember these drs r paid to write prescriptions. Think about it.
Hi... I'm sorry you are not responding to meds. I traveled this road. Do you have a nephrologist? With both working together to manage my bp, my kidneys stabilized. Most medications we us take time to show results. Prograf didn't work at all & the side effects were horrible. I stopped cold turkey. Unfortunately, I can't take methotrexate. My doc's work to manage my pressure & that helps with my kidneys. I take a cocktail that includes prednisone, cellcept, & bp meds(more than one). Praying I was helpful. Please reach out again if you have any other questions, to vent, anything. I hope I was helpful. Feel Better.. have a blessed night ๐ด๐ฆ๐๐ผ๐
