I went through something similar a few years ago and after tons of tests, the doctors decided it was inflammation of the stomach lining as well as a side effect from tons of antibiotics I took for cellulitis. I relied on zofran and brat diet and got through it. Hope it turns out it's not anything too serious.

Hoping it is not your kidneys. It can be a lot of things before cancer but it’s okay to be scared. Constipation can also contribute to feeling like this. Maybe you have more than one thing going on here. Your docs can help. It would be a good idea to check with your GI doc. I had symptoms like this and had both gastroparesis (slow stomach emptying) and then dumping syndrome (rapid gastric emptying). An easy but long test called sciintigraphy is used among others.

Eat small bits at a time. Try limiting mixes of liquids and solids (smoothies, soups) to see if it makes a difference. Try to eat only nutrient dense foods so you’re not filling up on empty calories you receive no benefit from. Really limit sugar. And as @A MyLupusTeam Member cautioned, stay well hydrated

Praying that you both find healing of your kidneys very soon, I tried to tell my Dr before I was diagnosed with lupus that my kidneys hurt. She looked at me and said you can’t feel kidney pain, I wanted to say you’ve never had a kidney stone then as I had one and every time that sucker would move it felt like it was tearing me apart. The pain I was telling her about wasn’t anything like that it was more of a dull pain, I can’t take Lasix as it just kills my kidneys. Wishing you a day without pain.

Your story sounds just like mine. I remember having the same symptoms and then I was treated for a bad kidney infection. Now that I’ve been officially diagnosed with lupus? It seems as though it’s worse now with my kidney pain. I feel like the plaquenil makes it worse and it gives me a UTI. When I wing myself off it, the kidney pain stops, but then I get inflammation starts again. It’s like a rollercoaster. My kidneys hurt and feel tight as I’m typing this. Eating makes me nauseous and I have lost weight. I’m trying a variety of suggested roots and herbs from Dr. Sebi to try to detox my kidneys and liver and body. Trying to change diet as well. It does seem like the doctor says I’m crazy from this pain. I’m on a self healing mission. It’s all scary and I feel your pain. It’s always something smh. I’ll will pray for your healing.
