Hi friends. I was diagnosed just before Christmas. My PCP started me on plaquenil and steroids, and I am finishing up my fourth week. I'm still waiting to see rheumatology. For the past week I've had this rash that just keeps getting worse all over my body. Has anyone else had this happen? Just wondering if it's a common side effect or allergy or yeast infection?

Yes, it is normal. Have you tried Benadryl? Go see primary doctor if rash continues or worsens. Praying you feel better soon!!

I’ve got quite a few blotches & patches on my body from the Lupus affecting my skin. The worst part is the itching it’s extremely irritating. Please, when you finally get in to see a rheumatologist ask them if you need a referral to a dermatologist. I’m seeing one & she’s very helpful in advising about skin care. The main advice she gave me was always, always wear sunscreen whenever you are outside, no matter what you’re doing, including checking the Mail (this is the one I have the hardest time doing, the mailbox is about 30 feet away). But Dr knows best. I wish you the best, stay safe, stay Blessed. God Bless Lupus Warrior.

Hi Mellisa Kolowitz, I get the rash on my face when my lupus starts flaring, but everyone is different ; let your doctor know about this. Are u on a declining dose of Prednisone? Once I go up from my maintenance prednisone dose, the rash disappears. Have u eaten anything different that could also cause a rash Some antibiotics can cause that rash also. Is itchy? Benadryl helps. Let us know how u are doing. How has lupus affected u? Feel better💐
