Hello lupus family.. Just a concern to ask anyone stop hydrochloroquine for 10 days due to antibiotics interactions. I have a ear infections fluid in my ear and I need to take azithromycin 250mg for 10 days. They said it can cause heart palpitations it taking with hydrocholoroquine.. any suggestion will help thank you so much. Stay warm today lupie family. It's cold wintery here.. Hugs

Hi @A MyLupusTeam Member, sorry for the very late response. I'm also allergic to all cillins, cephalaxin, rifampin, and ciproflaxin. I have taken azithromycin with plaquenil several times and been ok. However, my go to antibiotic is usually doxycycline. It works just fine for me on sinus stuff. Hope you are feeling better.
Angel I am paranoid when comes to medications because I always have bad side effects. I always check and tell my doctor about the plaquenil . Be careful what you take . I depend on my cbd gummy and cream .. staying away on bad food that give me flare .
Donnett told me not take with hydrochloroquine at the same time due to heart palpitations. Sorry to hear about your reactions call your doctor ASAP .
Pharmacist told me take my hydro chloroquine 5 hours after taking the antibiotics. I have to give them hours apart taking due to heart palpitations. I am still scared taking them together. I took my antibiotic but not my hydro. At least it will stop the pain in my ear for now.
