Hi everyone, I have a question. Does anyone here get trouble swallowing not related to GERD and choking when drinking or just swallowing your saliva? Can this be a symptom of lupus?

This happens to me frequently, though most of the time I have little saliva because of the Sjogren's Syndrome. I seem to aspirate often, even just drops of water. I have to drink often but i try to slow it down.

Thank you for the feedback ArkyGranny! I have to drink often as well otherwise anything i eat or pills i take, even a yogurt or a smoothie stays in my throat/esophagus. Lately I’ve been choking more with liquids and saliva. Good thing you slow it down. This could be dangerous for us. Take good care!
