My Dr put me on Cellcept. I took one pill and I got an allergic reaction to it. Now the Dr wants me to take Azathioprine. Anyone taking that med? If so any side effects or reactions?
@A MyLupusTeam Member I usually take b12, vit d, and calcium supplements.
That’s a good idea to only get a partial script first. Yes, your doctor will make sure to do labs quite frequently as it can effect the kidneys and liver. Try and keep your stress level as low as you can; easier said than done. Breathing is good🤗
Sphoorti...I am on hydroxy also. I have been on that for I months. What supplements do you take?
Azathioprine has worked well for me for the last 3 months, no side effects, less joint pain
I talked to my kidney dr today. He stated that Azathioprine has been around for a long time and feels confident it will work for me. Because of the allergies, he suggested that the pharmacist fill part of the prescription to see if I can take it without a reaction. He said that some people on that that med gets worts!! Oh boy. I guess I need to be on some medication so I don't get another flare. I was not aware that I would be on something forever. My kidney dr assured me that he will take labs once a month to check my kidneys and liver along with the normal lab tests. I don't want another flare. This last one took approx 7 months to feel better.
