Hello Lupie family.. I need advice what to take so I don't get constipated taking Iron supplements. My doctor recommend it due to my bleeding a lot during period and causing low in blood. I was 13 and went down to 10... Any suggestion will help. Any ladies here can advice me what is the safe method to control too much bleeding during period? My gynecologist suggest surgery like Endometrial ablation or a pill that I only take during my period. I wish you all pain free and be safe and hugs to you… read more
For iron you can honestly just uptake how much green vegetables u consume a day. A lot of people dont but i make something green to go with my dinner everyday whether its cabbage, green beans, turnip greens, broccoli, whatever and that helps my levels stay up. My numbers dont be too high but theyre not too low. I suffer from anemia since i was 13 so ive always relied on food for my iron or you can try metamucil its rich in iron and good for the gut so it wont make you constipated. Try to remember that with anemia you need to consume enough iron and vitamin c and that will help your levels go up. For the bleeding birth control was the only thing that really helped me with that, the pills helped very well as I used to bleed heavy and i mean heavy during menstrals and had problems with my cervix and endometrium, u may want to try birth control if you want to avoid the surgery. I hope u find some relief and answers soon, feel better 💜
Jashetta how are you dear? Do you take iron pills too? Beside the vegetables and greens. I don’t think I will do surgery but what best and safe birth control I can start? I am thinking low dose one because birth control made me feel weird and crazy before I was taking orthotricyclen when I was in my 20’s for about 15 years. Hope your feeling better 🙏♥️ And it’s nice to hear from you ♥️
I take iron pills lots of water. For ur monthly cycles I was told grape seed extract in vitamin form.
HI Jashetta that's glad to hear your okay.. I had a ultrasound both on the my belly then they did transvaginal ultrasound because the fibroid I had. Gynecologist said the cyst went away it seems its just a fluid. The fibroid is really small not affecting anything. I showed her my numbers went low from 13 to 10.5. I will ask her about the low dose birth control pills like you said. I heard about iron pills can mess up your stomach and constipated. I on my veggies drink fluid and spinach kale and trying to eat liver every two weeks. Thank you hun and very nice hearing from you girl missed you!!
@A MyLupusTeam Member im doing okay hun thanks for asking, i was prescribed iron pills by my doctor because my levels get low just about like yours numbers be 11 or 12. I took them at the beginning but stopped once it was messing with my stomach (nausea, diarrhea, etc) i would say try the birth control pills before anything else, they have some that are specifically for your type of situation but mine had high doses of hormones the first time so i changed to a lower dose pill and was fine after that I just choose not to take bc as it makes me sick but since then my bleeding isnt as heavy its like a normal menstrual i may have spotting here and there but that happens every once in a blue moon. Have they done a pelvic or transvaginal ultrasound? Usually that can tell them the source of the bleeding as mine was always ovarian cysts or polyps on my uterus
