My doc wants to switch me to Cymbalta bc it doesn’t interact with Amitriptyline (sp?) and other meds. Yet, I have been doing so well on my Effexor, I hate to try an unknown drug, especially having so many reactions to meds.
So, I was wondering if anyone could share the good, bad, and/or ugly experiences they have had with it.
Thank you!!!
Well, I'll chime in on this Mattsgal. I was started on Cymbalta several years ago. It worked, sorta. Doctor decided to up the dosage and I couldn't handle the side effects. So they split the dosage in half so that I only took 30 mg in the morning and then again in the evening and that helped a lot. I am a fan. Given all the medical issues I have been dealing with, I should be much more depressed and anxious, but I am coping better than I think I should be. I still get up every morning, do my chores, shopping, speak my mind and handle all the garbage this illness throws at me. Do I still struggle sometimes? Sure. But I still think it helps me. Hope it works for you.
I've been on cymbalta for years it works good for me but it's for my depression they put me on it for my neuropathy pain but it helped my depression better than my feet
I was on Effexor and was changed to Cymbalta. For me Cymbalta did not work and I did gain weight. Everyone's body is different and will react differently. For many it works, just like it won't work for others. The only way you will know is if you try it out. I go with the doctor's recommendation, and if it doesn't work Then back to the drawing board for them, to see what works best for me. If I'm not comfortable, I get a second opinion. Best of luck!
Been on Cymbalta for some years now. No problems at all. Very happy with results.
