I noticed recently since a couple of days that I have a redness and heat at the top end of my fingers and nails and the same on my toes. It’s always worse in the evening. I don’t know if it’s a synovitis because I never really had any redness and heat on specific articulations before. I was having erythema and heat on the palms of my hands and soles of my feet in the evening but not from my small articulations 🤔…

Hi SusieN,

I have experienced some redness and heat on the tips of my fingers… but as far as what it is and why it’s happening I have no clue. I do have some bumps on some of my fingers too, which are related to my lupus. My doc usually says something but I can never catch the word she says. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I hope you feel better. One day at a time.

Kind regards,
Yaritza

I have recently been waking up with what feels like burns on the underside of my fingers. They get red and swollen. They don't blister. But are painful for several days. The sun and or heat makes my skin feel like it's on fire & causes rashes also. I don't know how to deal with it. My follow up with my Rheumatologist isn't until late July. And my wrists ankles and feet have started swelling and won't go back to normal. And also now starting to get extremely sharp pains out of the blue & at times I'm having difficulty holding anything.

GenlancoYankowski. Thanks, that’s also what I thought because the patients of mines that had synovitis were always on bigger articulations like the wrists, elbows and knees and I could actually feel the liquid from the oedema. Your dermatologist said these rashes are not compatible with polymyositis and are more probably caused by lupus is that my understanding?
