How is it helping? What are the side effects? My doctor is going to put me on it soon.
I have been on Benlysta for several years. It has proven helpful for me. I also take Mycophenolate (Celcept). Both drugs together seem to do well for me. I have few flares and when i do have a flare it is short lived. The only side effect i have ever had was a high fever the one time i decided not to take the Benadryl with it. So now I make sure I always take the benadryl. As any immunosuppressant, you will be more susceptible to anything going around.
Thank you for sharing your experience.😊
I have been on benlysta since January 2022. I take the auto injector shot one a week on friday. On april 14th i will be on it 3 months. At times i think it is helping with pain and fatigue but at times i am not so sure. But my Dr said to give it 6 months to a year to judge if its working. The biggest issue i have for side effedts is I don't sleep much on friday night. I didn't go to sleep til 2:30 this morning. And i take sleeping meds... On saturdays i just lay around most of the day no energy. Not sure how much of that is from not sleeping good or the benlysta. Its harder for me to get to sleep on saturday and sunday nights night but by Monday night my sleep patterns are back to normal.
The jury is still out on if the Benylsta is worth it or not. But I am trying to hold out to at least 6 month mark before I decide...
I am glad it is helping! Great news! Thanks.
Was for about 8 months and went off of it as it was not making a huge difference with my symptoms or flares. Dr wanted to see if going off it would prove it was better to be on it, if that makes sense. Bottom line it was not the med for me.
