Hello,
I had my first app with a recommendation, Dr Peter Johnson today- I’ve been waiting for months.
Dr Peter Johnson was on leave apparently & another dr took my appointment, dr Jeremy wang
An advanced Trainee Rheumatologist.
I have walked out of the appointment With tears, frustration & anger
He spoke to me for 10mins and talked about my symptoms & he told me straight out I have not got Lupus or sarcoidosis - or any autoimmune disease.
He was so dismissive & said I need to ‘just get on… read more
Yes I have and some by same specialist...kkc
I did several times. My doctor said some people don't keep a positive ana. He treated me anyway to have "diagnosis via treatment" and had me on his books as suspected lupus. I finally was able to get in during a major flare and got my positive count, and he changed my diagnosis to confirmed lupus.
Wow - thank you all for your feedback. I don’t feel like I’m alone in this & it’s in my head. I am absolutely disgusted with the treatment by so called specialists, they have no clue what we go through daily.
Thank goodness for support groups like this.
Big hugs x
For years the Doctors only said i had Lupus like symptoms and because I always had a neg ANA they would not say it was Lupus. Finally 2 yrs ago the Rheumatologist decided to do the dsDNA Anti-DsDNA antibody test. The normal score is 0 - 9 and mine was 78. She said they couldn’t deny it any longer. My lungs have interstitial scaring. At times my joints are so painful I don’t sleep. From what I have read there is a 3 percent of the Lupus population that shows a neg ANA but a very elevated dsDNA. Have that checked.
I had a positive ANA in 2014, but when i saw a rheumatologist i was told that it was so low that it can be disregarded as negative and i didn't need to be seen about it anymore. But, then i moved in 2018 and the positive ANA came up again. I explained tge past encounter and didn't feel seeing another rheumatologist, but eventually I agreed to see one in 2019, where i was diagnosed with Lupus. That rheumatologist left for greener pastures in 2020. I have since been diagnosed with Sjögren's (during last year's Plaquenil eye exam), and current rheumatologist shared that its more likely now that i have primary Sjögren's, replacing my Lupus dx. Also, that if he had scored the ANA test... It would've been negative.
