Every couple of months my eyelids get red, puffy, itchy, and they burn. Thought it was allergies but its not going away… been about 2 weeks now. I tried aquafor, benadryl, vaseline, lotion, and aloe but nothings working. I dont currently have a opthamologist.. should I contact my rhematoid or a regualr doctor. Does anyone know if this is lupus related
UPDATE!!! After 3 weeks of Antibiotics, my Eye Dr said I’m in the clear! No problems with my eye now!!
Just dealing with dry eye Syndrome
I have severe dry eye and ive been having a problem when i looked i found i have a massive chilazian growing in my lower eye lid. I saw the ophthalmologist and he pumped it with a needle that day put me on antibiotics, for two weeks and anabiotic eyedrops four times a day and he’ll see me in two weeks if it’s gone down I’m in the clear! If not then I have to have a surgically removed. Be very careful!
Have you tried Ocusoft lid scrub? I was getting red eyelids and dry eyes from a medication I was taking. I'm sure that in part was what it was because I stopped the medication and my eyes are getting better although the only thing I was told when I went to the opthamologist was to put hot compresses on my eyes for 5 minutes or longer throughout the day and to always clean off every bit of my makeup. Eye makeup can be contaminated.. he told me to use the ocusoft lid scrub . Ocusoft lid scrub helps this but they're expensive. You can also use baby shampoo. I was getting styes in my eyes and those are painful. Hot compresses are extremely important. Hope you get better. Also hope this information helps although you did not mention styes in the eyes
My eyelids get real pink (looks like I put on eye~shadow).
I put CeraVe healing ointment, or good ole Vaseline.
Honey works wonders for everything, it's a natural antibotic.
Have a good Sunday, feel better soon.
🙏🏼
I'm not sure if it's allergy or Lupus related, but I also have been having redness and swelling around the eyes. I have a rheumatologist appointment at the end of this month. I can let you know what they say.
I also have dry eyes and opthalmologist recommended eye drops (Refresh tears or off brand is fine) and a warm compress morning and evening for 10 minutes. I have the compress I linked below, but there are several others on Amazon. I do warn against anything electrical. Higher chance of malfunction and burns.

The red on my nose is just from my glasses. 😏
I get dry eye and use systane balance eye drops. If you’re not sure if it’s the lupus maybe ask your rheumatologist first. I hope you find help and will be better soon.
