And for it by skin? Plain Vaseline works wonders. I don't know if you know but lotions have a lot of alcohol in them. The alcohol sucks the moisture right up. You use more and it just creates more dry skin. I use an alcohol free lotion and Vaseline. It works. Do your legs itch a lot? Vaseline use over a week makes it better. As for alcohol free lotion? Lotions from the Naked Bee works wonders. When you use it? Your skin is actually moisturized. It comes in different scents but also comes unscented. It's good stuff. Just a suggestion that may help. :)

Yes, red, itchy, and swollen. Like others have already said, you can treat the symptoms but the condition doesn't seem to want to go away. Epsom salt soak help. Elevating your legs help too. Also, if you sit for a while? Getting up every 30-45 minutes and moving around helps. Massage helps too. I am so sorry you're going through this. Stress seems to exacerbate it too. I don't walk away from stress, I run. I may not have any contact with family any longer but at least things are better. Ebay sells compression socks that are really helpful. The compression socks prescribed by a doctor are like a vise. The socks on Ebay have compression but just right. Plus, the top of the sock is non binding. That really helps keep your legs from getting ultra puffy. I have regular socks in now but tomorrow, my compression socks are going back on. I truly hope and pray you feel better.

Yes I have it all the time. They get blotchy but no pain. Just very hot to the touch. I asked my physician what it was and he said he didn't know. Go figure that!

I had that. Show your Rhumie and if they don't treat it go to your primary and get care. Try following edema protocols which include salt bath soaks (not consuming salt, not the same thing), reducing salts, hydrating, elevating feet, keeping feet and legs moisturized and watch for cuts etc as infection is dangerous, compression socks, rest. No sitting at a computer I am afraid. Find a doctor that will help you. Any that won't don anything should be put on the B list. Mine didn't help me and as a flight attendant I could have been having DVT. Not good.
