@A MyLupusTeam Member..my gut is telling me to hold off lol.My father has wet macular degeneration and I heard that can be hereditary. Im just to scared right now. For now, Ill just manage my flares with ibuprofen lol
That's what Im doing. I take 600 mg ibuprofen.
I had been taking hydroxychloroquine/Plaquenil for over 30 years. I guess it kept me in pretty good shape. I did/do have flares, but I deal with them and eventually feel better. When I started, I was told that it could affect my eyes. I have eye checkups every six months. I just recently developed macular degeneration and am now under the care of an ophthalmologist. The ophthalmologist and rheumatologist said to stop the medication immediately. I hope to get this latest problem under control as soon as possible. Good luck with what you are doing to keep yourself well.
I've been on hydroxichloquin for years no problem so far, must get eye exam every year.
