Belimumab is another name for Benlysta. I normally get infusions monthly, but have had interruptions due to the need of antibiotics for a sinus infection and for healing time from surgery. That’s probably it! My fingernails are breaking, also. I was just able to start back up last month. Hopefully, it will clear up these little problems.Thank you very much! 💕

Could be the fact you had to stop meds for surgery and the surgery itself. And antibiotics.
I had hair and nail problems when having to have heart surgery and same as you had to stop some meds. And got sinus infection after. Recovery took a little while but everything back to normal now. Hang in there Kathy.
I know how frustrating and depressing it can be but if it’s any help the light is at the end of the tunnel.

I experienced the same, sudden change in hair texture/density. Just one side of my head. I had two doctors tell me it was just "age-related female hair loss." 🙄 Was also experiencing nail damage/splitting. My next lab showed that my antibodies had really spiked. Dr. put me on something called belimumab. Infusions once a month, and its helping.
