Yes, I have both. We often have anemia, as chronic inflammation suppresses our bone marrow and reduces red blood cell production. We can also have autoimmune destruction of red cells, which I had previously, as well as the destruction of our white blood cells by our dysfunctional immune systems. If we are menstruating women, we can also have iron deficiency.

I have struggled with off and on low wbc and anemia before my lupus diagnosis but haven’t had problems with it since I’ve been on treatments for lupus. Not sure if it was caused by lupus or if I’m just more aware of my health and making better choices now
