I have learned that stress is my #1 trigger. A recent event caused extreme stress. 4 days later, I was fine, then began getting chills, then the dreaded feeling of something took over my body. I immediately went to rest. Took my temperature 10x. My temperature remained 97.5 or 98. I had chills and shivered for a couple hours. Then it stopped and I was fine. Has this happened to anyone else? Previously, I would get horribly sick for a week. This was unusual for me.

Oh yes. All the time. Chills, feeling feverish, cheeks flushed. But fever is 97.6. I swear. This gets more complicated tge longer I've had it. I'm sure my Dr thinks I'm a super hypochondriac! I just never know if I'm really sick or not!

Interesting info. I've only ran a fever 2x in my adult life. Once after my 1st was born and then when I had sepsis from a kidney infection. Medical personnel give me strange looks when I tell them I don't run fevers.

Stress is also a major trigger for me. I have not had a temperature over 98F in probably 20 years, despite having numerous infections and even pneumonia and type B influenza. Normally when they take my temp it's around 97F, so my body temp is lower in general now. One of the biggest insults I've ever had at a doctor's office was when I had a raging UTI and the nurse flat out told me quite angrily to "stop wasting my time--you have no fever, so you have no infection..." because my temp was something like 97.5F. (this was in the 1990s btw. I hope nurses are more informed now.) I DID have a raging UTI, I was about to leave for a trip to Mexico and KNEW I had a UTI because I was so prone to them. In her defense, she did apologize, but I think it's common for people with autoimmune to have a much lower than average body temperature. I don't have my hands on that literature atm, but I've read it in several places since my bad experience all those years ago. Big hugs and I hope you feel better soon!! 🤗
