I woke up early due to my hands freezing, fingers numb and blue finger tips is this normal?! What do you do ?
Agree with everyone--please layer up outdoors in cold weather, including hats and gloves. Sometimes double layers help, as cold exposure triggers it--even indoors at times. If these measures don't help, talk to your doctor about meds. AND ABSOLUTELY, WE MUST NOT SMOKE, AS IT AGGRAVATES IT.
That's Raynaud's disease, it's fairly common with lupus. I use my heating pad to keep my hands warm. In cold weather, I wear Thinsulate lined gloves or mittens and use my oven gloves to get things out of the freezer. Here's some more info:

Raynaud's, definitely keep extra mittens everywhere. Cold weather sets mine off. Or gripping something awkwardly. Or vibrations, like after vacuuming the apartment or using buzzers for haircuts.
I get this in my fingers and toes.
It's a pretty common problem with Lupus.. it comes and goes with me!!
I also read that you should massage the whole hand to help get the blood flowing again and the color going back to normal. Sometimes it takes me a half hour! But, I have not woken up with numb, cold hands like that. That has to be a circulation thing like laying on ur arm for a long time and it falls asleep. If the heating pad helps, then yeah use that to keep ur hands warm.
