New York Mills, MN

Hi,

Has anyone experienced swelling in their eye lids? Is this common with a lupus diagnosis? I have non organ involved SLE.

Thanks,

Kim

Yes, I have this issue in one eye due to lupus-related keratitis, or corneal inflammation, partly due to my severe dry eyes. Another possible cause is an allergy to something, Kim, if you have other allergy symptoms. I believe that angioedema, which lupus can sometimes cause, can also cause lid swelling but would usually also cause lips/tongue/airway swelling, too. Please see your doctor if it persists.
