I have SLE, fibromyalgia, diabetes and stage 3a kidney disease. I have good days but never pain free. I'm never sure what is happening. About 2 months ago I could not get through a day. I was so fatiqued, couldn't sleep, pain in my joints and pain in my muscles, headaches. Is this a flair? I saw my rheumatologist and she has me on a tapering dose of prednisone and I've taken Hydroxychloriquin for 5 years at the max dose. Does anyone feel like they have a flair frequently?
In the context of lupus, a flare is a period when symptoms of the disease become more active or intense. This can include increased fatigue, joint pain, rashes, and other symptoms associated with lupus. Managing and preventing flares involves identifying and avoiding triggers, such as stress, infections, and sun exposure.

Yes, Angie, that sounds like a flare. Are you taking excellent care of yourself with rest, UV protection, a healthy diet, etc.? Lifestyle measures can be incredibly helpful, including reducing work hours, etc.
Yes that sounds like a flare to me...pretty typical of lupus. Sometimes a flare can last months for me..
Yes, I'm taking care of myself in all those ways. When I was going through that phase, I had family crisis. I think stress is huge for me. Physical and emotional. I can reduce the physical but the emotional is so much harder.
@AngieB4--You're welcome, and I'm so glad you're finding it helpful, Angie. Unfortunately, it sounds like our parents had a lot in common, but I'm glad you continued your education regardless of their views.
I hope you're doing well lately, and I agree-- the support and understanding of our team help so much!😘
