Hi Lizette71. I've taken both meds before. I've taken prednisone recently. I take 200 mg of hydrochloroquine 2x a day. I used to have pelvic cramps all the time, everyday. No one could tell me why, after me taking, ultra sounds, pep smears and x-rays. I went to a gastrologist and they said the pelvic cramps and pain shooting down the back of my left leg was due to constipation. So they put me on linzess. It helps alot to have a bowel movement at least 3x per week because the meds like tramadol, hydrochloriquine, opioid makes me constipated. The lines helps. I only take lingers every 2 days so as to not get diarrhea. Hope this information helps. 🙏

Lizette, the rash may represent an allergic reaction to HCQ, so please see your doctor. Prednisone is used to treat allergies and wouldn't be the culprit. Your other symptoms may be from a UTI or other issue--possibly due to lupus.

Hydroxychloroquine and prednisone can have various side effects, but pelvic pain and burning sensation are not commonly listed among them. However, rashes can occur and may indicate an allergic reaction or a side effect. Here are some steps to consider:

1. Consult Your Doctor: Always discuss any new or worsening symptoms with your healthcare provider. They can help determine if the symptoms are related to your medication or another cause.
2. Do Not Stop Medication Abruptly: Stopping medications like prednisone suddenly can cause serious side effects. Your doctor can guide you on how to taper off safely if needed.
3. Manage Side Effects:
- For Rashes: Identify if the rash is due to lupus or medication. If it's a medication reaction, your doctor might adjust your dosage or switch medications.
- For Nausea or Upset Stomach: Taking hydroxychloroquine with milk or food can help.
- For General Weakness or Tiredness: These symptoms often improve as your body adjusts to the medication.

Always follow your healthcare provider's advice for managing side effects and never make changes to your medication regimen without their guidance.
