Fevers in lupus are typically associated with disease activity or flares, and research shows that about 60% of fevers in people with lupus are caused by active SLE. This means that a significant percentage of people with lupus may not experience fevers as part of their symptoms. If you do develop a fever in the future, it's important to contact your healthcare provider as it could indicate either a lupus flare or an infection. Both situations require different treatment approaches, and your healthcare team can help determine the cause and appropriate treatment.
