Let the doctor know about your side effects they will have to try something else

This is what I am seeing too. I've been on it for a week, I am not liking it at all but wasn't sure if I need to wait it out. It has made any symptoms I had to be extreme and my mood is terrible. I wanted to see if others felt this way too.

Let me also add, I have no nerve problems. This was prescribed for fever, fatigue, brainfog, joint pain, and hives

Alyssa, it definitely helps with nerve pain, but to my knowledge and per my references, it is not specifically approved for lupus. Some doctors are now using gabapentin to try to help treat all sorts of pain, but side effects, including memory loss and dizziness, can be significant. You may want to consider a second opinion, if possible, from a rheumatologist at a university medical center, as they often have more experience with our uncommon disease.

Gabapentin can be helpful for fibromyalgia, which we lupus patients sometimes have, too.

I am on gabapentin for trigeminal nerve pain and migraine. Lower dose than what I started with. Luckily, I don't seem to have bad reactions to most meds.
