@A MyLupusTeam Member Yes, I’ve experienced this before. I apply castor oil for the dry scaly patches and raised skin rashes that I often get. Hope you get better soon. Take care πŸ’œπŸ’œ

Do you experience raised skin appearing suddenly on different parts of your body?

Yes, this can happen with lupus. Several members on MyLupusTeam have shared similar experiences with raised skin appearing unexpectedly.

Here are some common lupus-related causes of raised skin:

β€’ Hives (urticaria) - Raised, itchy patches that can appear anywhere on your body. They may blend with your skin tone or appear lighter/darker on dark skin, or show as bright red or pink on paler skin.

β€’ Cutaneous lupus rashes - Can cause raised, scaly patches or disc-shaped lesions that may appear on sun-exposed areas or other parts of your body.

β€’ Subacute cutaneous lupus - May cause raised, scaly patches or round sores, sometimes even without sun exposure.

β€’ Photosensitivity reactions - Sun exposure can trigger raised rashes that feel hot or burning.

A MyLupusTeam member described getting "small flesh-colored-looking goosebumps on my forearms, then I noticed the next day my body was covered in a red rash."

It's important to talk with your doctor about any new raised skin areas. They can help determine the specific cause and recommend appropriate treatment to manage your symptoms and improve your quality of life.

Yes, that was my first symptoms. Exposure to UV rays from the sun can cause it t.. Find a good sun screen. Talk to your Dr. About it. There's a steroid cream I use when they come that helps them go away. πŸ™πŸΎ
