Restarting CellCept (mycophenolate) after a 6-week break is a great question to bring up with your doctor, as everyone's response can be different. There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer, but here's what's generally known:

Since your body had already built up a response to CellCept before stopping, it's possible it may work faster the second time around compared to starting fresh. However, this isn't guaranteed. A few things worth keeping in mind:

- Some MyLupusTeam members find CellCept works well for them long-term, noting it keeps symptoms under control
- Everyone responds differently to restarting medications
- It's hard to separate medication effects from lupus symptoms themselves — as one MyLupusTeam member put it, "I don't even know what's side effects and what's illness anymore"

The best person to give a realistic timeline is your doctor or rheumatologist, who knows your full history. Don't hesitate to ask them what to expect and what signs to watch for while waiting for it to kick back in.
