Has Anyone Had Issues With Blood Clots?
A MyLupusTeam Member asked a question 💭

Part of how I was diagnosed with Lupus SLE was from a blood clot that formed from my groin to my ankle in my right leg. I’m on Xarelto but the clot is not dissolving. It’s unchanged after 6 mos. My doctor keeps wanting to wait for my body to take up the clot. Im concerned about compartment syndrome. Anyone have experience with this?

Thank you for the advice! I did not know clots formed by lupus need more aggressive dosing. I did see that Xarelto won’t dissolve the clot. It just stops new ones from forming which it has done so… read more

Anticoagulation For Anticardiolipd+?
A MyLupusTeam Member asked a question 💭

So I have + antilupus antibodies, but was on Xarelto at time of testing. Will Xarelto give false positive? If no, is Coumadin a better choice when one has already had multiple PEs and DVTs?

A MyLupusTeam Member

Xarelto will not affect antibody test results. As an internist, coumadin has always been considered the best choice, and a higher INR goal is necessary for those with the lupus anticoagulant as it… read more

Stopping Coumadin?
A MyLupusTeam Member asked a question 💭

@Coumadin and Colonoscopy -
In a few days I am scheduled to have a colonoscopy/EGD to look for the reason I am severely anemic. I am also on @Coumadin since I have Antiphospholipid Syndrome in addition to Lupus. The directions for the colonoscopy prep say to stop my @Coumadin 4 days before the procedure but I'm curious if I need to be put on Lovonox in the meantime. My PCP nurse says that I'll be taken off everything and then bridged back to @Coumadin with @Lovenox after the procedure but I… read more

Treating AI Diseases With CN-SP And Telomerase Positive Stem Cells
A MyLupusTeam Member asked a question 💭

Besides being a sufferer of SLE for 40+ years, along with a myriad of other autoimmune diseases since the age of four, I was a medical school professor and was and currently am a research scientist. You can read the story in my thread if you like.

CN-SP is the acronym for combinatorial nutraceutical-super pill. I developed it in my research laboratory to stimulate adult-derived telomerase positive stem cells, that each of us have inside ourselves, to promote healing of damaged tissues. It is a… read more
