From the beginning of treatment my rheumy put me on 400mg of Plaquenil daily. I take one pill in the morning and one at night. I struggled sticking to my meds and treatment plan for the first couple months or my diagnosis because I was in denial and didn't really believe it so I just recently started taking my medications again as prescribed (I was diagnosed October 2015).
Anyone taking plaquenil? I used to take plaquenil about 6 years ago and lots have changed for me since i was taken off of them. I was only on them for about a year long with voltaren and some other stuff. My new dr recently put me back on plaquenil alomg with humira injections, lyrica and cytoxan and idk what to expect with the plaquenil. I would love some insight or your stories on this medication. Thannks!
I take plaquenil twice daily to control lupus....my dr wanted me to take Lyrica but it costs a small fortune even with insurance. My ins. company suggested Gabapentin as an alternative.... probably all they willing to cover. I've been taking it for about 3 months now and I believe it helps.... particularly with sleep. I can't sleep more than 2 or 3 hours without waking up hurting.. either my hips, legs,… read more
I just got back from my rheumy appt. Today was a follow-up from some x-rays taken last month on my sacrum and hips. He didn't see anything concerning that could be causing my nagging pain between the two. Says it must be Lupus messing with my muscles and tendons. He prescribed me gabapentin a few months ago and I didn't like the spacey/disconnected feeling it gave me. He wrote me a prescription today to try Lyrica. I'm desperate for some relief from the nagging pain of my hips and random… read more
Lexapro or Cymbalta? I'm on Lexapro for about 3 years now. I'm on Lyrica as a trial run and it's working GREAT ... but.. butt it's too darn expensive. I heard Cymbalta is good too (and cheaper) but. I need to stop Lexapro to start Cymbalta... anyone offer any insight or personal experiences? Thanks a ton!
my rhuematologist told me he has tried cymbalta , steriods and now plaquenil which seem to not have helped me at all. mind you I am February/march 2015 dx. anyway he says since these have not worked there is nothing more he can do to help me... Im also on lyrica. I have osteoarthritis, fibro and ss. isn't there more medications out there to treat these diseases. and what is and abnormal lupus anticoagulant or high LA screen?

What meds are people taking daily to help control fibro? I've heard of Cymbalta and Lyrica? Do they work? Or is there something else that helps?
I've then taking gabapentin for almost a year now I am having a lot of dental issues and I am one to take very good care of my teeth, I did a lot of research and it seems that a lot of people are having the same issues I am having. So I'm thinking about going in Lyrica.
I am one that doesn't do well with side effects. Especially headaches which I already get daily and nauseous I think that's one of the reasons I stay with gabapentin but it makes my head fuzzy and I am very forgetful.… read more

I went to the neurologist and she told me to take lyrica 75mg at night.
I have to take it with xanax 25mg (a quarter) and diplexil 500.
Does anyone with CNS lupus knows what's the best order to take them and the time I should wait between each.
I'm having trouble absorbing the meds, with a lot of stomach and bowls problems, and it's making it very difficult to sleep at night.
