Maria Lolou M.D., M.S.

Dr. Maria Lolou graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, where she completed her medical school training. She has broad clinical experience in internal medicine and emergency medicine, along with specialized training in psychiatry and general medicine. Currently, Dr. Lolou is enrolled in a rheumatology training program and is actively involved in several research projects exploring the mechanisms underlying rheumatic diseases. With a strong interest in the holistic approach to patient care, she completed her master’s degree in food, nutrition, and the microbiome. Dr. Lolou’s thesis focused on the combination of rheumatology and the microbiome, specifically exploring the existing data on the role of the microbiome in axial spondyloarthritis.
