Has anyone had weight loss surgery with a SLE diagnoses? Did it help or worsen your lupus?

I had a gastric bypass in 2000 before I was officially diagnosed with lupus & not sure if it's compounded my problems I'm having now.

Had it (lap band) and had to have it removed. Crappy immune system so catch everything and illness with a lap band is miserable. Had pneumonia and coughed so bad I tore the band loose. Same thing happened to a friend of mine with FM.
