Getting ready to start Methatrexate.....really worried about the side effects...esp. long term. Just wondering if I could hear from anyone who has done well on this med? P.S. REALLY appreciate this team
Have been on methotrexate for 20 years, changed from pills to injections, then had to go off from side effects. Had to restart it, when my skin went crazy, total body rash. Now can no longer be on it, did some damage to lung and esophagus.
How about Benlysta, my insurance is picking up all of the cost, except for $93 a month. Heard there are little side effects, first drug ever made for lupus.
Good luck.
I take 8 tablets every Saturday and have been for about 3 years. I know it is helping. I don't get any of the side affects from it.
I was on MTX for about a year. I injected in my belly once a week. I did ok on MTX. Then my labs started to get funky so my doc switched me to Imuran.
BC/BS used to be well respected, paid out claims quickly. Ow some offices don't accept inteRnet are 6 months behind paying claims.Glad I have MEdicare with.Humana.Mail order drugs are for the most part free.
Yes, I was at the same price point 2 years ago. They say $93, plus pay 80percent of infusion appt. BC/vs will help with the rest.
