I was just put on methotrexate today and I am worried about the side effects. Can anyone here please share your experience on this med?

I started on pills and I am now injecting it. It makes me really sick for 2 days - nausea, vomiting, headache. I do a really bland diet on those two days. But, it is only 2 days and I feel decent the rest of the week. I just started Benlysta infusions, too and they make me so tired. I thought I would get to stop methotrexate but no such luck.

Oh. one tip would be to take it before bed, along with a gravol. You will sleep through the first bit of it.
I take mine late Saturday night (skipping my folic acid which I take at dinner).
I start taking folic acid again Sunday night.
I hope that helps.

Are you on pills, injection or infusion?
When I was on the pills it really affected my digestive system. Projectile vomiting and diarrhea.
I switched to the Injection and no longer barf, but I do need to stay close to the toilet. On day one I am down for the count. Tired, weak, dizzy, nauseous. I pretty much stay in bed.
Day two, I am slightly more human. I seem to come around after that.

I did lose weight when I started and hair loss happens, but my labs have been really good.

That said, while my labs say my lupus is under control, I still get flares all the time. My organs, at this point, are all ok.
