Is it common for people with Lupus to have chest pains? I've been having them all week. Mainly on the left side. I've had my heart checked and it's fine but I do have anxiety however these pains are not anxiety.
I have chest pains on occasion and had to see a cardiologist. It turns out they are called cardiovasospasms, which are similar to Raynaud's, but in the chest wall area. The smaller arteries around my heart narrow and cause pain. I'm on medication, but I also have Nitro at home for when they get really bad. They aren't consistent at all, but when they happen, they are definitely scary, and need to be taken seriously. Sometimes chest pains can be inflammation due to Lupus, but you never know; it's good to check it out, just in case.
@ Wanda. I would demand an ekg and exam of the lungs. If you don't get the help needed ask to see a specialist in those areas. I was given Naprosyn for anti inflation. I wanted to mention that the meds for burning itch all over is not working. I'm having a bad couple weeks and only thing that helps is to stay home and freeze everywhere with ice packs.
@A MyLupusTeam Member I was sent to an allergic specialist who said there is no cure for the deep pain full itching but said to take 2 zyrtec a day instead of 1 an continue ice packs and atarax twice a day. He said my condition sounds like dermatographism from what my husband & I explained my symptoms.

I'm going through the same exact thing and it's interesting because when I go to the doctors and they check my heart and I breathe they don't seem to hear anything and I tell him and it's like an oversight so I thank you because I go to the doctors next week and I'm sitting here making a list of all of the symptoms I looked it up myself and it seems like its some type of pleurisy I don't know but they're going to check it out I don't want to wait until I have a stroke or heart attack or whatever right if it means me not working so that they can catch up and see what's going on so be it thank you so much for your answers and your questions actually
