Hello I was wondering if anyone else found out about their lupus diagnosis after they started forming blood clots? What route did your doctor take did they send you to a rheumatologist? Do you see both a hemotologist and a rheumatologist?

Have they confused your diagnosis? One day lupus other day APS (antiphopholipid syndrome) or anything similar?

Thanks just looking for others with similar situations. Thanks!

I have SLE, Sjogrens, and just found out last year I have antiphospholipid syndrome too. I was told that the APS goes along with lupus.

I had Blood clot issues with every surgery, busted blood veins constantly, bruised easily. This last Oct. my Oncologist diagnosed me with C & S Blood disease. Now I take a treatment before surgery to prevent bleeding out. You might talk to your Dr. and see if you've been tested for it. It's rare but it's a possibility.

Hello.. Yes I had 3 Deep vein blood clots in 3 / 01 and 5 / 01 and then found out I had Lupus 2/ 02. . I saw a hemotologist and my primary care doctor who put me on Warafrin, I take 7.5 MG per night. I see my rhumetologist for my Lupus. .come to think of it I have heard her say antiphlipic something before and Fibromialga. . I need to find out about the other really is.. I think it was related to the clotting of my blood. I also wear compression stocking to keep the clots from real occurring and I have a Greenfield filter in case a clot does for it won't go to my heart.. no more issues w/ clots and my Lupus has been in remission since 6/03... feeling much better!

I had two blood clots 7 years ago. I was sent to a hemoltoligist who put me on warfarin. I was then diagnosed with fibromyalgia and sent to rhumie. Diagnosed 4 years ago with lupus. But who knows how long I had lupus before being diagnosed. Hope I didn't confuse you.
