I've gained so much weight since I've gotten Lupus. Between the meds, inactivity from hurting or fatigue. It just keeps coming. Ive gained anywhere from 50-70 pounds over several years. tried weight watchers, nutrasystem, was even walking up to 6-10 miles a day at one time. before everything hit! Now the weight loss systems dont work, and the walking, well...it doesnt either. Was told diet pills would interfer with blood pressure, and blood pressure meds, and could irritate my lupus. theโ€ฆ read more

Oh, my friend... I get you. I feel like I ate myself. I'm so huge, and my body hurts from it. My knees feel like they're gonna explode when I squat down, it's hard to maneuver, and forget getting up once I'm sitting in a beach chair (which sounds silly until you notice I live in Hawaii, we carry beach chairs with us everywhere). I am searching for a quick fix to get me motivated, but my biggest fear is that I won't ever be able to exercise effectively again. Let's be honest. People don't loose weight barely hobbling up and down the street like an 80 year old woman because their legs hurt so bad. I just wanted to tell you that I feel you. We can be fattys with lupus together for now, j guess. If you ever come to hi we can lay in bed and watch Netflix and judge the skinny girls that we used to be before we got diagnosed. Jeeze, 2 years ago I was running marathons, now I weigh almost 200 lbs. I hate prednisone. I wish we could cuss on this thing, cause I have a few choice words for that drug. ๐Ÿ’‹

It's like my weight loss button is switched off. I was losing weight steadily but then nothing. It's really difficult being an extremely overweight person who is sick because all they say is lose weight and it will get better. How? 1000 calories a day and 2 or 3 hours exercise a day should do it but it's not working.

supplements can have side effects too. you can look online to find out interactions. for example, ginger and turmeric would interfere with my blood thinners. you can consult someone who deals with natural medicine and they can advice you as well.
