What helps with muscle weakness?
That is a hard one. I try to keep moving. Last year I couldn't walk up stairs. I slowly pushed myself to do a little and now I take the two flights of stairs 5-6 times a day. Not all at the same time of course. Same with arms. Do something. Even if it's picking up a can of beans and "pumping" them 2x. While watching tv. Just don't give up and stop. That's when your in trouble. When I really don't feel well I allow myself some rest though. It's different for each person.
Let that anger you have not knowing why or how you got lupus get you going I know we have laugh to keep from crying try to move on try to have a better lupus day
I was told to walk 5 minutes ON A TREADMILL OR INSIDE SOMEWHERE in the am, and then again in the pm. Rest most of the time. While your resting, do stretches with your legs. Another thing that has helped me -I have vascular issues- is water therapy, which basically consists of walking around in a pool for 15 minutes. it's easier on the joints, blood vessels, yet strengthens your muscles. Hope this helps. Just don't give up!
Wow that is a hard one. I know exactly what you are experiencing. I know I make sure my Vitamin D levels are normal and I do take Magnesium.
Very gradual increase in activity- pace yourself, if you overdo it, can have opposite effect. I had to start by walking around my kitchen a few times a day, then to walking outside very short distances, now I can walk down my driveway, again I still break it into 2-4different times through the day to allow muscle recovery in between. And on days where I’m weaker, listen to my body and don’t do it as much. But even in poor days I make sure I walk some. I also make sure I am drinking lots of water, take magnesium and Vit D. Make sure to have protein with all meals also.
