I have been diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis and Lupus in December 2007. I initially had psoriasis on my scalp only. My rheumatologist prescribed Methotrexate for me. Initially I had some mouth sores and hair loss associated with the meds but he gave me some "miracle mouthwash for the sores" and the remaining side effects finally subsided. I have been on methotrexate for over 10 years and it has worked wonderful for me. I am monitored every 4 months to ensure my liver and kidney functions are ok.
Thank you for your info. I was first diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and some type of mixed connective tissue disease. Later tested positive for lupus. Hard to find a balance with meds. Lupus medication can make psoriatic arthritis worse and vice versa. On benlysta and cellcept.
I have arthritis, just plain arthritis with Lupus. I gave you some info, hope it helps:

Psoriasis
Psoriatic arthritis is a form of arthritis that affects some people who have psoriasis — a condition that features red patches of skin topped with silvery scales. Most people develop psoriasis first and are later diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, but the joint problems can sometimes begin before skin lesions appear.
Joint pain, stiffness and swelling are the main symptoms of psoriatic arthritis. They can affect any part of your body, including your fingertips and spine, and can range from relatively mild to severe. In both psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, disease flares may alternate with periods of remission.
No cure for psoriatic arthritis exists, so the focus is on controlling symptoms and preventing damage to your joints. Without treatment, psoriatic arthritis may be disabling
I recently was diagnosed with Posriatic arthritis with a weak positive with lupus. My doctor put me on hydroxychoriquin and is doing a once a week biological injection to get my inflammation down but I barley have skin issues. I have more lupus symptoms than I do with the psoriatic arthritis. When my doctor looked at my X rays she said my fingers were swollen and I thought to myself “no my rings are falling off so they’re not swollen” 🤣 I’m a heavy girl, weight management has been hard my whole life but I feel as if I’ve been misdiagnosed or I have both and she’s just going with the psoriatic arthritis until my weak positive for lupus turns into an actual positive later. I wish I had more information for you, I’m chronically fatigued and also suffer from chronic migraines but I also have two vertebrae’s in my neck fusing themselves together which is cause my neck and back pain. My muscles restrict as well. Yoga helps a lot and changing the diet to anti inflammatory, does as well. I hope this helps in any way, I know I’m kind of rambling but I thought I could at least try to help 💕
Im on Imuran right now but I think its making my psoriasis worse. It literally spread from a little spot on my shoulder down my chest, shoulders and down my back. Has anyone ever heard of cizma? Im feeling the arthritis in my ankles and hands but she wants to wait till after the pandemic to switch my meds
