New Market, MD

I am two weeks late for my period and have had 3 negative pregnancy tests. I want to be 100% sure that I am not pregnant because I am currently on 40 mg prednisone to try to help with my lupus caused shrinking lung syndrome. I am also taking 150mg imuran and plaquenil. Has anyone missed a period because of their meds? I have never missed a period ever before this.

My period has vasillated for years. It can be meds or Lupus attacking feminine system. I had a year where I had 4 operations in feminine areas and my cycle was all over the place. Also don't forget that Lupus and hormones are closely related so it will or can alter cycle in some.

I stopped having my period for 4 years! Then it just started again. In the time I didn't have it, my weight went up, then WAY DOWN, my meds were changing often. When I stabilized, after approx a year it came back. Hope that helps
Also, pregnancy tests WHEN TAKEN PROPERLY, especially taken after the proper time period, are pretty effective, but if u need definitive, a blood test is the best way to go

Kristen, prednisone is a horrible medication with many, many side effects. When I was first diagnosed with chrones disease I was on prednisone for 2 years straight and another 6 months to get off of it. I had all kinds of side effects and that was one of them and to date I still am not having normal periods. Along with weigh gain, moodiness, restlessness, swollen ankles, feet, and hands. It may be a "miracle medicine" to some but I will never go back on the medicine unless I have no other options.
