Has anybody else experienced skin pain with no rash? My inner upper arm and trunk is so tender, it painful for clothes to touch me. If so, what is the remedy? Thanks.

Yes, my skin at times feels like I'm sunburned. My Rheumy seems to think I have Fibromyalgia as well. She has started me on Gabapentin with wonderful results. It took away the burning feeling on my skin.

I have it on my left shin. I have tried everything from prednisone, cortisone injections, and nothing works. It wakes me up when the sheets touch my shin at night. They say it might be neuropathy.

I have this frequently on my arms and chest & it is miserable. When I have it on my face and head it's the worst but I have shingles frequently and almost always on my face. It starts w the skin pain and will be from behind my ear up and down and ab 2 days later the blisters form. Mine normally isn't like u see n pics online thankfully. Will be a small patch ab the size of a quarter and then spreads from there. There is a cream u can get at walmart that is used for sore muscles that u can use & it helps some. Can't think of the name of it thanks to the fog but it has the red pepper stuff in it that's used n pepper spray. Will post as soon as it comes to me!

I have this happen fairly frequently. I thought I was alone in it until I joined this site. I believe it's caused by inflamed nerve endings. What causes them to be inflamed, I have no idea. I haven't found anything that helps mine. I just try really hard not to let anything touch it, including my own body.

Hi Debbie, yes I've experienced the same signs and symptoms and was told that it could be a form of internal shingles. I couldn't even tolerate the air to hit my arm or chest . However I have a port placed on that side and occasionally it feels inflamed and tender after treatment. Just be sure to check your pulse on the affected side and let your Dr. know incase it could be due to high intake of nitrates causing a form of gout? Or could you possibly be favoring that side.....Sleeping/resting/lifting ?
