There's nothing worse than not being able to sleep. My doctor prescribed ambien but it doesn't really work. At best I get two hours sleep off of it. So I really don't bother taking it. I have been plagued by this for some time now. I lay in bed all night and watch the sun come up, it's awful. Somewhere between 3 and 5 my body completely gives out and I do sleep for about an hour then wide awake again but feeling just as fatigued if not worse. Wish I had advice for you but I don't. Just don't want you to think your the only one suffering from this. It took me awhile to realize I don't suffer alone and in return I don't beat myself up about it so much.

I average 3-4 hrs a night. When I take flexeril 20 mg before bed it does help. I can get sometimes get 6 hrs then. Yeah! I have just gotten used to functioning on less sleep.

I really think you should try powdered calcium and magnesium. It really does help me when I'm like that.

I found meditation helpful. I downloaded some guided meditations for sleep on my phone. I put headphones on so don't wake anyone. I first read and then meditate before I go to sleep. If I wake up in the middle of the night, then I put my headphones back on and meditate again. I also had to stop all caffeine after 1 pm and drink warm milk. I hope this helps :)

My sleep aid meds tend to hang with me longer during the morning than needed, so I have a hard time shaking it off. I just try to read or write when I'm up at 2or 3 o'clock in the morning. It helps and then I can lay back down and rest for a while.
