I take 5000mgs but start small see if it is ok with you. Ive been using it for years even after i had cancer when my hair came back it came back faster but my hair lately since my meds changed has gotten alot thinner i feel like i could make a doll every time i shower i lose so much hair. I think if it wasn't for biotin id have a lot less hair

@A MyLupusTeam Member Both my son and I started taking Biotin about a month ago; we take 5000 mcg daily. We saw our rheumy yesterday and she said that was good and what she would have recommended. We also use a good deep conditioner once (or twice) a week. The meds tend to dry out everything and it makes our hair fall out all the more. I also get hot oil treatments about every 6-8 wks. This seems to be helping.

Yes I am taking biotin 10000mg a day and I have notice that my hair does not fall out anymore. It really helps.

I use to take Biotin and I believe it was 5000mcg as well. Another useful supplement is prenatal vitamins. One other one I took with the other two is called adrenagen. I purchased it through metagenics. They all worked for me pretty well.

I don't have kidney disease that I'm aware of I get tested pretty frequently..a quick search on the Internet should let ya know if biotin will effect your kidneys now I'm curious as well
