Has anyone been told what the average life expectance is for someone with Lupus. My doctor has not said anything but I've been reading things on the internet and I have to say it pretty scary for me.
My granddads wife is 80 and in remission. She was diagnosed over 40 years ago and told she only had two to three years. Anytime I begin to worry about life expectancy I think of her.
Don't pay any attention to what you are reading regarding life expectancy of someone with lupus. All time is in God's hand. I was once thinking just like you when I was first diagnosed. I am a living testimony of what God can do because I was diagnosed with lupus (SLE) for over 25 years.
Thanks Noreta, I try not to think about the worse. I have a strong faith in GOD and his ability to heal. I don't know what I would do without all my Lupie friends here and there support. Thanks again, GOD bless.
ive had it since my late twenties and will be 53 next month. have mixed connective tissue disease rheumatoid osteoproisis osteoarthritis and other problems with it for years and still can do all my basic adult living activities on my own. u cant go by what the medical journals say cuz everone is different. im living proof of that. positive attitude and living life to its fullest everyday has kept me moving on. take care.
It's not something your Dr can answer,if your having major organ involvement your Dr maybe more concerned. I know people who lived with it for over 30 yrs(my Cousin) who pass way from colon cancer at 61,I also have friends you passed in their late 30's to mid 40's from complication from lupus and its friends. We have to live each day one day at a time and trust God for his healing and protection over us,please don't think about death as it will cause flares and unwanted pain from stressing.Take your meds, take care of yourself and make sure your getting enough rest. You have a long life to live, enjoy it.Hugs&Blessings.
