Members dealing with thinning and falling hair from lupus, medications, and deficiencies shared a wide range of helpful tips and products they have personally tried. Several members found relief through vitamins like Biotin, B Complex, Vitamin D, Iron, and Folic Acid, while others recommended hair care products such as Nioxin, Infusium, and shampoos from Sally's Beauty Supply. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of hair loss, with members reminding each other that tracking nutrient deficiencies through bloodwork and advocating with your doctors are important first steps.

My hair, eyebrows, eye lashes were falling out...the hair I do have looks unhealthy....very upsetting. My blood test showed my body was very low in Iron, calcium and other ones I can't remember. (also the doc said the lupus attacks/kills the hair follicles)

So I crushed my vitamins with extra calcium, iron, D and I think it worked. My lashes have never been so long :D And my hair stopped falling out. Hopefully it will come back thick and healthy. but it will take time

I also shampoo with pantene clear. I don't use any chemicals of any kind on my head. To avoid damaging my hair further...I brush it while super wet then let air dry. Comes out looking healthier.

And.... I layer my hair to make it look fuller

I've been away for a bit as my Lupus and Sjogren's has been flaring. Have the driest hair and skin ever. Also been dealing with my blood pressure and sugar. Doc placed me on a strict diet - no sugar and low salt. My PCP doesn't want to prescribe me my pain medication anymore.....he thinks I'm getting hooked. Wow! It you had Lupus, Sjogren's, Fibromyalgia, Degenerative Disc Disease, Bulging Disc, High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, a Low Functioning Thyroid, Venous Insufficiency, Bi-lateral Sciatica, Kidney Disease (Protein in Urine), Bothersome and Growing Fibroids, and Asthma you'd be in pain too! I love my doctor, but I'd also like to kick him in the butt as well. Thank you God for loving me. I needed to vent....on another note, I've always had thin hair. But it worsens whenever my auto-immune diseases attack. Several years ago, I began using essential oils to thicken and strengthen my hair. Rosemary, Lavender, and Clary Sage are good oils for strengthening and protecting the hair.

I use Fish Oil Suplements and Glucosamine. I use the cheapest from supermarket. Its works.
My hair are thicker now and extra shiny.
If you look only for Shampoo- Use "Dead Sea Spa Magik Mineral Shampoo" and Mask for hair.
Will see results in one week.

awww its so horrible when we have to go through all these terrible things. I had hair down past my bottom and at times i thought i had rope on the floor. I got it cut and then it started to thin. I usually have thick hair. Anyway i started taking B complex and vitamin D and my hair is a lot better. The shampoo and conditioner you use does effect the hair. Shop products have a lot of chemicals in them. I use a shamp and cond from a hairdresser and its a bit dearer BUT it works better than the shop products and doesnt lather up heaps. My hair has stopped falling out except round that time of the month and its a lot healthier and shiny. I have tried coconut oil in my hair and its awesome but i don't do it all the time. I take my vitamins crushed to and it absorbs alot better. Vit D. If you have a very high fat diet your Vit D will decrease. I have pinned up how i got to where i am now and it cuts alot of that out.
