Getting a lip biopsy for sjogrens. If you had this done what should I expect? How much pain and for how long? I'm a bit nervous.
I had this done a couple of years ago. They took a small biopsy from the lower lip. It didn't hurt. I was sent to a specialist, and he knew what he was doing. However, the results were still unclear so it was a wasted effort. Afterward, that area of my mouth was numb for several weeks, and still I have problems getting lipstick straight in that area. I hope it all goes well for you.
Actually looks like there are several tests for sjogrens. Blood, biopsy, imaging and eye tests. I would check out your options and see why your dr wants to use that method vs. the others.
I'm so sorry to hear. I probably need to do the scan. I've been dealing with left hip pain off and on for about 8 yrs.
I had a DEXA scan a few weeks ago and failed that. Osteopenia in my left hip and osteoporosis in my right. 🙄 nothing ever comes back negative.
My previous dr just called my diagnosis lupus/sjogrens overlap. There is no way it was coming back negative. Lol. I just ate something substantial and it felt like my lip was tearing. Such a strange feeling!
