Last night I felt a slight pain in my base of my thumb. When I looked at it it looked caved in and as much as I told my thumb to move it wouldn't budge. This went on for a few minutes. I know it's not life threatening but it scared me. My brain kept trying to move it but it was like my thumb wasn't part of my body. IDK what is going on with my muscles. Is this what fibro does?

I used to experience this way before I was diagnosed with lupus. I attributed it to rheumatoid arthritis with which I was diagnosed years ago at the age of 25. It feels silly when you try to pick/lift up something and my arm/hand wouldn't work together with my brain :)

I was told also it can be what they call trigger finger. I had that really bad. I had to have surgery on my hands to get it to stop.

I have slight fine motor skill. Can't pick up buttons, sewing needle, turn pages. Sometimes when I hand knit , my fingers and wist lock up. Have to manually open them. I used to get upset, now I know it just goes with the territory. Heat helps. I have dropped a couple of cups of decaf tea lately. Maybe my body is telling me I need some caffeine. 😊
